Prague Airport: Migration of the Data Warehouse and Planning System to SAP BW/4HANA

We successfully completed a system modernization project for Prague Airport, a.s., including the conversion of SAP BW to SAP BW/4HANA and SAP BPC to SAP BPC for BW/4HANA.

Transformation of BI and Planning to the Modern SAP BW/4HANA Platform

Our company delivered a project for Prague Airport, a.s. focused on migrating the SAP BW data warehouse and the SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) system to the modern SAP BW/4HANA platform. The objective was to replace a technologically obsolete solution based on the Oracle 19 database while ensuring full system functionality equivalent to the original environment.

The project not only improved system performance and stability, but also created a foundation for further development of the data architecture and preparation for a future conversion of SAP ERP to SAP S/4HANA.

The migration was a complex initiative involving the design of an optimal strategy, execution of a so-called shell conversion, and the transfer of all relevant data and planning processes to the new environment. The implementation of SAP HANA DB enabled a significant acceleration of system response times, simplification of data flows, and expanded data processing capabilities for business users. At the same time, the environment was streamlined and modernized, now offering more open integration with other systems, such as Microsoft Power BI.

As a next step, the customer is continuing the transformation journey with us by migrating SAP ERP to S/4HANA and connecting new extractors within the S/4HANA environment.

Detailed information about the project can be found in the PDF document.
